Todd J. Cabanban
Todd has demonstrated a sure command of the metropolitan Chicago commercial real estate market over a 28 year career. Todd has spearheaded the leasing for a number of significant developments in the city such as Sherman Plaza at 87th and the Dan Ryan, South Loop Marketplace, the Roosevelt and Ashland Jewel/Osco Center, the Osco center at 67th Street and Stony Island Avenue, and also in the suburban markets, with Broadview Village Square and Gurnee Town Center. Other notable landlords that Todd has successfully completed leasing and sales for include, the University of Chicago, RPAI (Inland Western REIT), Dominick’s and BP Amoco where he handled the disposition of more than 70 properties valued at over $30 million. Additionally, he has represented retailers including Dominick’s Finer Foods, CVS/Pharmacy, Cash America, Dots, GNC, Destiny Dental, Expedia Cruise Ship Centers, Popeyes, Panda Express, Starbucks, and Dollar Tree in their expansion efforts in Chicago. Todd played a significant role in the development of the Shops of Beverly, which was awarded the prestigious Chicago Neighborhood Development Award for a for-profit project for commitment to the community as well as overall quality. This project was the first new retail development in Chicago’s Beverly neighborhood in more than 30 years and is a prime example of Cabanban’s commitment to enhancing the quality of life in underserved communities.
Before starting Cabanban, Rubin & Mayberry, Todd spent 10 years building a strong company as a founding partner of Zifkin Realty & Development. At Zifkin he played a major leadership role in helping manage the company and mentoring new brokers. Prior to Zifkin Realty Todd was Executive Vice President and Managing Director of retail brokerage at Hiffman Shaffer Associates.
Todd also sits on the State Committee for ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers). He is a Past President for the Ely Chapter of Lambda Alpha International, and is the Communication Chair for Lambda Alpha’s International Board. Todd’s civic duties include being the Board Chair for the Leaning Tower YMCA in Niles, IL as well as serving on the Board of Managers for the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. Todd was also appointed by Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle to sit on the Economic Development Advisory Committee (EDAC) for Cook County . He is an Indiana University graduate and holds an Illinois Brokers real estate license.
